'Ugly' light...

I was out with my camera and Trish's family the other evening...  I noticed, while we were talking in front of the Judith Wright Center, that we were standing in a huge pool of hideous, blue light which created a very cool effect. -no pun intended-

I love wandering around at night with my 50mm 1.8...  You find these special little lit vignettes created by lights from buildings or street lights or cars...  If you're paying attention, you can take advantage of them.  Plus, it gives me lots of ideas to use later...  This is certainly not a light  I would have chosen - had I set up a lighting scenario.  But it certainly conveys a feeling and hints at a story...  The only thing I wish the frame had is a splash of something 'warm' in the background.
